Privacy Policy

Last updated: march 2020

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of our website, products, and services, as well as the exchange of information.

Definition of Personal Data

Data is defined as personal data when it can be attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person. The guidelines below offer information regarding the type, scope, and purpose of the collection, use, and processing of personal data.

Collection of Personal Data

When you use our website, software, services, and contact and login functions, when you subscribe to our newsletter or agree to receive updates, and when you contact one of our representatives, personal data is manually and/or automatically collected through personal or impersonal communication. This includes, for example, your name, address, e-mail address, etc. This data must be stored in our system in order for us to be able to conduct business.

Storage and Protection of Personal Data

Personal data is stored in our systems, whereby these systems may also include external processing and storage capacity. We do our best to make sure that systems that we use are located within Switzerland and are protected by suitable measures that comply with the standard data protection framework.

Use of Personal Data

We solely process personal data for the purpose of maintaining business relationships, processing and following up on inquiries, creating offers, carrying out the necessary steps prior to entering into contracts, executing contractual measures, making initial contact with customers and potential customers, and for the provision of products and services. Based on your involvement in these processes, we assume that you consent to this use of your personal data. Before we process your data for any reasons other than those specified above, we will obtain your consent separately using a double opt-in process. This applies, for example, to subscription to our newsletter.

Access, Rectification, and Disclosure

You have the right to request access to the personal data that we have processed and make adjustments or corrections to this data at any time.

Handling of contact data

If you contact the website operator through the contact options offered, your details will be stored so that they can be used to process and answer your enquiry. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

Data Collected by the Website

We work together closely with our hosting provider to protect our website data against unauthorized third-party access, loss, misuse, or falsification to the greatest extent possible. We use logs in order to create statistical evaluations of our web traffic and website usage. These logs contain the referring URLs, IP addresses, date, time, browser request, and general information on the operating system and browser used to access the website. This use data forms the basis of anonymous statistical evaluations used to identify trends that allow us to improve the products and services we offer. We process your personal data, to the extent necessary, for the entire duration of the professional relationship (from initial contact to the actual transaction all the way to the termination of the contract) as well as beyond that point in compliance with legal, statutory, or contractual retention and documentation obligations. This data may only be accessed by authorized persons and is password protected.

Login Process

We store all of the data that is entered by the customer during the login process. This includes the customer’s first and last name, address, date of birth, telephone number, and e-mail address. Any data entered that is mandatory for logging in or for creating a user account may be given to third-party service providers.

Data Protection Officer

You can contact our data protection officer at any time regarding any data protection issues related to your personal data: f.keller@mortalive.ch.
